Indicators for good management of protected areas

The Swiss organisation "Pro Natura" is involved in the management of more than 200 protected areas in the country. The management goals of these areas are very different. Some are managed for process conservation, some others to promote habitats or endangered species. The indicators to measure the management quality are adapted to the management goals. Case examples for different protected areas show, which indicators are suitable to show good management and which are less.
