Aspects of carrying capacities and recreation management: The case of Triglav National Park, Slovenia

Protected areas overall, but predominantly national parks, are facing the increasing visitation. The national parks are recognized as "brands” for an authentic nature experience and alosas a playground for numerous recreation activities. The development of the numerous recreational activities is fast and accelerated by the industry and the protected areas management institutions have to be on alert to survey the activities that are performed on their grounds as well as they should envision the impacts and future management, concordant with the nature protection goals. The paper presents various aspects of carrying capacities in the Triglav National Park (Slovenia) regarding the forms of recreational activates as well as their performance in space and time.
