How can Swiss Regional Nature Parks improve the functionality of the ecological infrastructure? Pilot-scheme in two Nature Parks in the Canton of Berne

Swiss government started the project to promote the ecological infrastructure in the country in 2016. It aims to get an overview of the protected areas, "buffer zones" and connecting elements in swiss nature parks and compare this situations with the situation as it preferably should be for the aimed species and habitats which are typical for the single nature parks. The Project is fully financed by the federal government but project managment is fullfilled fully by the cantons in which the nature parks are situated. It will be presented the project in the Canton of Bern which includes 2 nature parks an several connections to other projects/parks targeting the same issue.
